Births
With the event
of Henry VIII, abolishment of monasteries in the mid 1500's
the Church of England
slowly formed a registration system of births, marriages,
and burials. The early records from 1538 to 1550 in many parishes
did not survive, due to poor storage conditions and some clerks
of that time were not aware of the importance of the parish
records!!
The Broadbent family
is listed in many of the early registers for Huddersfield
"St Peters", Halifax "St Johns", Elland
"St Marys",Almondbury and Kirkburton church. Below
